The Application Process
The initial application process for Space for Humanity’s Citizen Astronaut Program is simple. All you need to do is upload a short video of no more than three minutes or submit a written application. Use either as an opportunity to introduce yourself and say why you would like to go to space.
Should your application be successful, you will be invited to a series of interviews to determine your suitability for the program. At this time, you will be asked to give considered responses to your ideas about how you will use the Citizen Astronaut Program to inspire others and the type of project you hope to undertake as in the Ambassadorship program.
If selected, your individual social-impact project will be developed and refined during the training program, along with a team of mentors, global executives, fellow ambassadors, and advisors to help guide you.
Once commercial space or near-space seats are available, you will undergo basic commercial crew training. The costs for your spaceflight are covered, in return you will act as a Space for Humanity Impact Ambassador following your flight.
When you return, Space for Humanity will assist in the implementation of your Ambassador program by providing ongoing resources, training, and access to our world-class team.
Other things you may want to consider for the video are as follows:
How will you inspire others with your spaceflight story?
Which causes do you hope to support through Ambassadorship?
How would you want to make a difference in your community when you return from space?
These ideas can be broad and conceptual — don’t sweat the details! The point at this stage is simply to share your passion.
If you’ve uploaded a video, feel free to share it on social media. #SpaceforHumanity @SpaceHumanity
